Crazy Weekend

This weekend was lots of fun but also lots of crazy. Friday night we saw Quarentine. it was scrazy but kinda stupid. Saturday me, amanda, paul, jd, ashley, and tommy got into Manhatten Grill. LOL. I used my college ID and he let me in. That was a ridiculous night.

Of course it ended with my head in the toilet and the room spinning, but it was fun.

Sunday we had our hunover-pumpkin patch party. Me, paul, amanda, and JD went to Weber's Farm and got pumpkins. They look pretty good i must say. Then we watched Grey's. We only have 3 seasons left of Season Four, which we'll probably finish tonight! Then onto Season Five. yay.

I really shouold be doing homework and coming up with sketches for Painting. I didnt do any painting this week and so i plan to paint from 11:00am to 6:00pm today.

Old People, Paintings, and Work

So, School is crazy. Lots of homework and insane schedules, but more importantly PAINTING! I love painting. It is really racking my brain though. Painting III is so much different than what im used to. No assignments, no directions, no nothing. It is all self directed, which is what an artists does, but im just a little nervous. I started painting portarits of the residents as OCV. im thinking of going into a new direction. a little more abstract or expressionistic maybe. no more photo realism and ideas that are so straight forward. i really want to experiment this year.

Besides that, work is killing me. So much drama and problems to deal with. Plus, Christy is doing student teaching this year, so she has a very difficult schedule. My life consists of the following:

Mondays: Go to school at 8:00am. Astr Lab 10:00am-11:45am. Painting III 2:o0pm-5:550pm. Homework. Grey's Anatomy night at Amandas 8:00pm-12:30am.

Tuesdays: Astr 8:00-9:15am. Anth 9:30am-10:45am. Straight to work until 8:00pm. Homework.

Wednesdays: 8:00am-4:30pm. Screen Process I 6:00pm-9:50pm. Homework.

Thursdays: Astr 8:00am-9:15am. Anth 9:30am-10:45am. Straight to work until 8:00. Homework.

Fridays: Work 10:30am-8:00pm. Out

Saturdays: Work 11:00am-8:00pm. Out

Sundays: Work 8:00am- 2:00pm. School from 4:00pm-10:30pm.

Summer's Over

I start school in a few hours! Summer's been great and Im sad it's over. Poop.

Final's Week

So I have one more regular day of classes tomorrow (well, technically today now), a finl on Wednesday, Thursday, and then Tuesday and I'm halfway through college! I start my first summer class on the 27th of May, and it only lasts five weeks. It's watercolor, so it should be fun. Then i have an art history course starting in July.

I am so glad for the semester to be coming to an end. I am sooooo ready for summer! I cant wait for all of our last minute plans and three-day trips we'll take. And sleep! I can't wait for that either. Fall semester 2008, Lauren will be starting Towson. That will be pretty awesome as well.

I have no idea why i decided to make a post tonight. I am supposed to be studying for my Painting Final tomorrow, but I haven't quite gotten to that. It's 2:49am, and I have to be to class by 9:00am. I'm a total slacker. I really should be studying, but i know when i finish typing this, i will probably pass out instead. I hate nights like these. I am too hyped up on coffee and shit to get some sleep, but too hyped up to do anything actually productive. I am also too tired to actually do anything productive. Everything gets so confusing at 3:00 in the morning. Maybe thats why people go to sleep then...they can ignore the strangeness of the middle of the night. I especially hate 4:30 in the morning. No one in their right mind should be awake then. And if you stay up that late, there's no point to go to sleep. But you still have a few hours to go before you go to work/school/etc..

Okay, Im rambling...and not very well either. That is a definate sign I need sleep. I guess Ill just get up extra early to study in the morning...

Waiting for Summer

The Orioles game was fun, even though we lost horribly. I don't even like baseball or any other sport for that matter. We went to Friendly's afterwards and ate ice cream until we felt sick. I skipped painting class yesterday because i was tired. It's not a big deal though, I am awesome in that class and I'll have all of my stuff done for next week anyways. I think we're having another model next class. Yay! I love model painting. Here's my most recent one:



For my abstract painting, I am going to paint skin. Close up, with vein showing through and different col orations. I'm excited. Then off with my series. I am getting antsy for summer. I can't wait. I'm taking two summer classes, but they're watercolor and art history, so they should be fun. They will make up for my dropped writing class this semester. I register for Fall Semester soon- I'm taking Painting III and a 400 level drawing class. Plus some gen-eds. I work all the rest of this week, like always. Ive been off for two days and it feels like eternity. I will have so much to do today to catch up. My birthday is next Wednesday. I'm not that excited though, my birthday is always strange. Hopefully there will be some more adventures this weekend and plenty of painting time!

New York

Taco Bell, 7-eleven, PA, Delaware, New Jersey and smell fish bridge. A 24-hour food store, swedesboro, and finally the south Bronx at 3:00am. We drove to New York without directions and enough coffee and candy for a small country. It took us two hours to get from drug-dealing mexican town to times square. We finally parked and walked in front of the Virgin Records sign when the sun came up. Friday night into Saturday was amazing. We would be driving on 95 until we got bored and take the next exit for fun. I love nights like these. We started the trip at 11:45pm Friday, and got home at 11:45am Saturday. Next trip: Orioles opening game in a few hours.







Now I have to study for my Sexuality test at 11:00am.

Withdrawal

Well, after a half of a semester of all-nighters and caffeine addiction, i decided to withdrawal from my advanced writing class. it was just too much to handle- completely unmanageable. i am already less stressed. i was actually skipping painting class to do homework for writing class- and its just a gen ed! so now i can focus more on painting.

i finally officially switched my major to painting. i am no longer a zombie of art ed. i am so excited but scared. it something that i need to do. i have to paint. my paintings are improving so much, that it would be a waste not to pursue it. the plan is that i graduate in two years like i was supposed to. i will have a BFA in panting. then ill take off a year or so and travel around the world. ill go to the Midwest and paint the deserts like i have always talked about. then ill go to grad school for a MFA in painting and teach college!

my life has been so busy with school, work, friends, and everything else. the cancer ordeal finally stopped after my grandfather and a few others died. so i am trying to move on. Ive been painting pochades and portraits and things. my next subject will be time and schedules and the business of everyday life. i just want to be enveloped in art. also, i will have a 2 hour break where my writing class was, so i will probably be updating this out of boredom more often. hopefully the next time i post ill have some crazy story from tonight. were driving all night and eventually to new york. no sleep. lots of coffee, food, loud music, and friends.

First Post

Well, I have finally decided to jump on the blog bandwagon where I can explain myself and the absurdities of my life-like anyone really needs to know. I hope to update this thing when I have time, which is not often. It is 1:33am on Friday night. I have had four cups of coffee in the past couple of hours and am in denial of my caffeine addiction. Every Monday is Grey's Anatomy night at Amanda's, which leaves me to come home and play on my lap top in the wee hours of the morning. I am on spring break, but I still have to work everyday this week except Thursday. And I still have to do homework as if I were in school.

I guess I should explain the title of my new blog, but that would take too long. Everything about my life is slightly ridiculous. A little absurd, a little strange, and unpredictable. Like everyone else's, I'm sure. So stay tuned, and if you're lucky, I'll continue to post my daily ramblings in one way or another.
